Horse Check in Times:
- Expo Arrival -- Please try and get your horses
settled in a little early,
(just like airport check-ins)
if you show up at the last minute it's hard to get checked in at the office and
get horses Vet. checked ect. Be on time. Don't miss your sale order.
- Sale Ring Order -- Horses must sale in order; if you
miss you place you will go
to the back of the line for that day.
- How do I get in and where do I park my horse
trailer? As you come down the Pavilion road you will see the big
building on your left; go past the front of the Expo and turn left
(second entrance) into the parking lot... (watch for signs and check in with
attendant)
Paper-work:

- You
must have the following submitted to our office in advance to sale a horse
and be listed in the printed sale catalog.
- $200.00 consignment fee (checks must clear first).
- A Six (6) month negative Coggins test. (send a copy
and bring the original)
- TWHBEA registration papers SIGNED (don't forget to
sign them).
- A thirty (30) day Veterinarian health certificate (send
a copy [fax] and bring the original)
- * As soon as possible check in when you arrive. (our
sale office is just inside the Expo's
main front doors)
- ** Completed paper-work is a must! If your
registration papers aren't signed
your horse cannot be transferred or registered to the new owner! We must
have the original signed and in our office prior to the sale ready for transfer.
- *** Any questions must be cleared through the office
before cut-off date to be listed.

Barn Stalls:
- Stalls and straw are available. (See pictures in the
facility section)
- Check with the stable crew when checking in your
horse for stall locations.
- Straw is available see one of the SMS crew.
Horse Viewings:
- There will be a barn
stall assignment list with stall #'s and horses will be assigned hip #'s.
- This list will be posted at the front and side
entrance of each barn. Need help, see crew or come to the SMS office in
the front of the Expo Center.
Consignment Fees:
- $200.00 consignment fee - 10% commission
Payment to Sellers for horses sold at
the sale:
- SMS
will date all papers as of the
sale date. Payment for horses is in about 2 weeks.
Health Check:
- All horses must check in at the
veterinary check station prior to entering the sale ring.
Ring Sale Times:
- Sales start at the posted times (see
above) and
go until the last horse is sold that day.
- If your horse misses it's assigned ring
sell order when called; it will be moved to the bottom of the daily line-up.
Trailer Parking:
- There is plenty of room on the west side of the
Expo Center. Watch for signs near the front entrance of the Expo to direct you.
Horse check-ins and trailer parking is past the Pavilion; the second and turn
left ... the first one is closed at the front. ALL traffic will enter
through the second entrance.

- There are electrical and water hook-ups only, NO
waste hook-ups. There is
plenty of parking and
nice large facilities with clean restrooms and showers. The restroom
facilities are adjacent to the parking lots and barns.
There are clean handicap equipped restrooms inside the Expo as well. We have great facilities.
No Porta-Potties here! If you need assistance with your RV or Trailer
see one of the attendants in the lot or come to the office. For further
info on fees and hook-ups call Walters State (see contacts below). To
enter the RV area go turn left at the second gate into the parking lot.

- * Horse sold on Friday need to be removed from barns as soon as possible to
make room for Saturday horses.
- ** When you get checked in with your horses you will be given a
hip # for a sale slot
for each horse. We will attempt to sell as close as
possible to the time you are given. Some horses may be scratched and this may move the time slots. We use
portable radios to relay any messages of change to the barns and sale ring to let
buyers and sellers know of the changes. If your horse doesn't show up in the sale ring at
the slotted time, after being called, your horse may be moved to the bottom of the sale order for that
day.

VENDORS:
- There is a setup fee that is charged
for vendors inside on the concourse or outside on the walks or parking lots. Currently
the vendor fee is $40.00 // Call (606) 598-2928.
Come to the office and pay your vendor fee before setting up your booth!
- Vendors if you have a booth inside and
outside you will pay for two (2) booths.
HORSES SOLD OUTSIDE THE SALE RING:
- All horses sold on the grounds during
the SMS sale are subject to 10% commission fees. Those not adhering to
the sellers policy may be bared from future sales.
- Those illegal parking at the soccer
field will be towed.
